For a couple, the grief can tear their relationship apart. From: "Word Songs of Love and Life" “Yours Is My Sorrow” Albert Moore Yours is my sorrow, thus must we part. Brought to our knees from same, stilled heart. What I can give, I cannot receive. What you so mourn, I cannot relieve. We shared the joy, the hope and fear. Now more suffering it is to be near. So dark is my soul, I cannot reveal In anguished grief the love I feel. In time, as it comes, I desperately pray I will find the words we need to say. Now we must wait for pain’s release. Only then, together, finding solace and peace. Somewhere, beneath grief too heavy to bear, Know that my love for you is still there.

I very much appreciate how SPECIFIC this video was. Very helpful. Usable, And it offers Hope. But what about-- What do you do when a relative dies, and you feel a sense of relief? Someone who was "hard to be with"? No more arguing. No more ridiculing or dismissing your opinions. No more putting up with "one ailment after another". Sometimes you wonder if something always has to be not well. Can we ever have a 5wk stretch when things are basically fine? But its mostly escaping the criticizing and minimizing. So, maybe they pass away and you dont cry. Then, you feel like a Monster, and guilt eats away. Is there any book i can read that specifically addresses this sort of stuff? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

If a person in your life has been toxic to you, and then he or she dies, it would make sense that you might feel relief, particularly if that person is a family member you can't easily avoid. You are not a monster. Your feelings are a natural and appropriate reaction to how someone treated you.

My FA ex...and I think it got worse because he opened up to me about some things no one knows about (for the first time in his life, 'cos he has never talked about intimate stuff with anyone - he keeps everyone at arms' length) and because I was seeing him, could see when something was off, his fears, etc (the FA power! 😅) and when fears went to the roof he pulled away and changed the reason for the breakup several times until the "I'm not one for relationships, I need to be alone" while he was completely in deactivation mode, cold like ice 😢 he has a big shame wound too and full of anxiety

I thought I should share this here, it might help someone going through a tough time. Late last year I lost my parents in a car crash I was 23 then. It was really the darkest time of my life. I mean my life was completely shattered. My parents where all I knew I only had two friends and that's all the support I had after the accident. I was suicidal for a while, I cut my hand twice and somehow God still kept me alive. I think it was around October when one of my friends Jane booked me a therapist online Dr. Bruce Stewart, cause I really didn't want physical therapy, didn't want to feel like crap telling someone my problem in person. He completely changed my life. Within the space of six months my life has changed I'm better and very hopeful for my life and future. This is a wake up call to everyone out there, seek help if you need it. Therapy isn't bad, these therapist will do everything to help you get better and if you ain't sure which one to use I'll recommend Dr Bruce my therapist Reach him on IG at .mentalhealth_bruce I hope you heal from everything holding you back. I'm rooting for you

Wow..I pretty much right on par with all those things on the list except for giving myself time and taking time. I’m just not able to do that because I had so many pressing issues and I have adopted children involved, probate issues, issues, dealing with certain companies that are heartless and cold, but luckily, I have zero debt so I don’t have that hanging over my head.. I like the last one you said about honoring your loved one and the things that you do that you know would make them happy and I catch myself doing that now and it’s a really good feeling.. One thing that really helps with the grief os just getting phone Calls or text from friends or Family that just check up on you. It’s even better if they show up to talk in person much better. It’s kind of a sad feeling when there were so many people there at the funeral or the celebration service but they all seem to have disappeared into their own lives and never contact you anymore . That kind of hurts but it makes me a better person in case I ever run into somebody with the same issues. I will be the person that will call and come visit. Bring dinner. Have a beer go out for lunch go take a drive go on a hike, take the dogs for a walk be your friend

Some people in AA believe that but it's not right and it's not true that AA says to do that. In fact, AA has a pamphlet that says in no way do they suggest that members on prescribed medications stop taking them as prescribed by the doctor. Now if it's an addictive medication like benzos or opiates, you should talk to your doctor openly about your addiction to see if there is a better medication for your situation that isn't likely to trigger a relapse. I wish you the best in your recovery.

My heart goes out to all of you. I lost my grandmother 10 years ago. She was my best friend biggest cheerleader confidant my reason for living. The 1st year was hard. The second harder. My grief sent me spiraling into a deep depression I caught all kinds of illness ended up in a medicinal semi coma could only get up to go to the bathroom and back to bed I went. Finally 2 and a half years ago I got strong enough to go back to work at first 6 months part time. When COVID almost took my husband I forced myself into full time. It's been a challenge but I thank God everyday for my progress. There's still a long way to go. One hour and 1 day at a time is all the advice I have for you. Know that it has a purpose some day you will be able to help guide someone through their pain and suffering. Look for your loved ones encouragement to continue in your daily lives. For me 1 of the signs was the color purple in any shade especially lilac that would be a kiss from Heaven from my "GranJefa"

I'm all for a program that wants to help people quit drinking. It's a noble quest. But, at the same time, IF Jesus is not your focus, then you're just replacing one "idol" with another. And yes, AA has become just another "religion". It's "god" is whatever you make it. The 12 steps say, "God, as we understood him...". This is blasphemy! Because there is only ONE True God! And sadly... MOST people who enter AA live the rest of their life in "recovery mode"; because they have NOT taken their problem to the ONLY "problem-solver" there is! There is no need to live the rest of your life as a "recovering alcoholic". Just pray to Jesus and have the faith that He will remove it. And IF He deems that you are sincere; He WILL remove it! I am not suggesting the "12 steps" in and of itself is no good. But, first pray to JESUS; and let HIM guide you to what you should do. We're all individual people with very individual needs; and only HE truly knows WHAT we need (and don't need). Otherwise, you are only putting a band-aid on a cancer. You may be able to "quit drinking"; but you will spend the rest of your life still basically centered around "alcohol" (even though from a different angle). And ultimately, IF you reject Jesus, you will still go to hell. Regardless of your "efforts" here on earth. Because, NONE of us are "good" enough to enter Heaven; and only HE paid the FULL price that we SHOULD pay in hell! And ALL He asks is that you sincerely believe in HIM! Now, please do not misunderstand me. I am not suggesting that people who become Born-Again (become a child of Jesus) become perfect and go the rest of their lives without problems. No way! But, you will never even get to the starting point until you have Jesus; let-alone cross the finish line! For ONLY He can take you past that "finish line". ALL else is MOOT! AMEN!

The only reason in my opinion we find ourselves with alcoholics is to save ourselves, because the reason we love one has a lot to do more with ourselves than with them. In this relationship we HAVE to learn why we came to this earth and what is our purpose, but most importantly we have to learn to love and Care for our own self! Not depend on others decisions for their life, but on our own decisions. This is what I learned through the years with my alcoholic husband that I love until now.

The biblical prophet Elijah has returned, as prophesied, and testifies: I can help with the AA method, especially concerning the "Higher Power." I was raised in the Catholic Church and went to Catholic schools, and that was a very good foundation for understanding that there is much more to life than this limited world. But it eventually became clear to me that too much of it didn't make sense. For example, a schizophrenic GOD who is angry, jealous and wrathful in the Old Testament, but "is love" in the New Testament - and the insane belief that GOD's Son had to die as a "sacrifice for our sins." And so I became agnostic for many years - until GOD made Itself known to me directly. As it turns, my becoming agnostic was due to WISDOM. Because, FEAR causes people to cling to beliefs that don't make sense. And wisdom automatically comes as fear is overcome. Wisdom and fear are inversely proportional. And the Bible serves many purposes, including a fear/wisdom test that doesn't give you Truth until you're ready for it! (Prioritize "the words in red" and discount conflicting statements and you'll get it!) Few know where AA truly originated, like I do. It originated from a particular channel, one of two that were invaluable in my own GOD-given education. AA wasn't the brain-child of some man or men. It came from THE Higher Power Itself - The Mind That is GOD - through a channel named Edgar Cayce. The work of Edgar Cayce and Helen Schucman ("A Course in Miracles") are two bona-fide works of GOD given through the Holy Spirit in the 20th Century and stand apart from all other channeled works. When you discover what GOD is and what Jesus Christ ACTUALLY teaches, you discover that the organized religions have butchered the "good news" of Jesus Christ ("The Kingdom of GOD is within you") beyond recognition, into its OPPOSITE (judgment and sacrifice for "sin"). And that's why I was sent as GOD's witness at the end of this cycle of time, to re-state and clarify the "good news" that Jesus Christ brought some 2000 years ago. Can you see that the Book of Revelation is currently being fulfilled before your eyes? It will get very bad in the short term. But the "good news" is that it will get very good in the long term! "In this world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world." "He who overcomes will inherit all things." - JC The fact is that EVERYONE will overcome, in time, for that is time's GOD-given purpose and guarantee! "GOD our Savior...will have all men to be saved and come unto knowledge of the truth." (1Timothy 2:3-4) When you learn exactly what GOD is (The limitless Mind that is ALL), exactly what YOU are ( the "son" of GOD, a limitless Thought in the Mind that is GOD, given the ability to think WITH that Mind), exactly what satan is (the selfish human ego), and exactly why you are here (we partook of an irrational idea, symbolized by the "tree of knowledge of Go(o)d and (d)evil"), and how we will get back Home (by rejecting that irrational idea and overcoming the ego) THEN EVERYTHING MAKES PERFECT RATIONAL SENSE! As Max Planck indicated in his 1944 Florence Italy speech ("On the Nature of Matter"), scientists who pay attention to the quantum physics data can see that this world (of limitation) is a simulation in A Great Mind. GOD has revealed to me WHY we are experiencing it. And Jesus Christ tells you how to leave it behind, and guarantees that you will succeed! "Judge not and you will not be judged, condemn not and you will not be condemned, forgive and you are forgiven." By forgiving others we effectively forgive ourselves and free ourselves from our prison of ignorance, guilt and fear. THIS IS WHAT SALVATION IS. And this is why it is KEY to know that GOD is the Mind that is ALL Because, it is then possible to forgive others as well as yourself, because you know that all is of GOD and all is for good...and the evil devil is just an irrational idea! Want to know more? Seek and ye shall find...

I was trying to do this without even knowing what I was doing, but my alcoholic became enraged that I was no longer allowing myself to be present in the things he wanted to do and they began looking to others for sexual validation and this hurt me more.

I should watch more of your videos on Boundaries.. I am going to try to make this all about a local YMCA.. First there were a couple of Personal Trainers that would interrupt me when I was talking to others.. Then they would be on 3 machines at the same time and virtually take up the whole gym.. This example is when I should have cancelled my membership and went somewhere else.. I started going to the YMCA around November and weather was cold and miserable.. My main reason was to use the hot tub.. The hot tub was having issues and every time I talked to a staff person they would tell me something different.. Even the staff told me not to go to the CEO.. Eventually I did go to the CEO.. The CEO told me that the Health Department shut them down.. I just happened to be in the County Building for something else and I figured I would stop at the Health Department and find out for myself.. They told me that they did not have anything to do with the hot tub being shut down.. I told the CEO and they said that I can go somewhere else.. I should have at that point.. I was stretching in the spin class room when someone came in and cranked the radio.. When I told the staff they said that people can do that.. I said "Great, I will bring my Pantera in and play it." Then they went and made the person turn the radio off.. Then I started taking this yoga class when there about 20 people but it was growing.. I had people moving my mat.. I asked the Instructor if could put my mat up by them.. They said yes.. Anyways, once the class was around 40 people and someone literally put there mat up against mine, even though there was plenty of space. I talked to the instructor after the class and they told me to move. There was a retired State Patrol and a semi-retired DNR agent in the class. They said for me to move my mat by them. I told them that they were not the authority in the class. They completely understood. There were a lot more instances I can say. I look at boundaries as what behavior will I tolerate. A lot of my questions to myself go along the line of "Why am I tolerating that behavior?" Within the first 3 months of me being at the YMCA and dealing with the hot tub issue I should have left and then I would not have dealt with all this other dysfunction. If the people who have authority are against me then why am I there? Yes, they can say that they are neutral but their behavior over and over said that they were against me.

I don’t understand why people stay. It’s not a peaceful life having to deal with someone else’s destructive choices.

I feel the same. Best thing I've ever done for myself was get out and away from it.
